[done] Ability to save an existing product as a new product Reply to topic

How about adding a list similar product option like on Ebay. Adding a link with the edit and delete options.

On selection it should copy or duplicate all the information of that product.
Then it should open “Add Product” and fill in all the fields with the same info.
Now all you do is change what’s different and add the product.

hmm, that's not really listing similar products in the usual sense - usually it's used to actually list similar products, like on Amazon.

So, what you're after is pre-filling product data when adding new products. Another way of doing that would be to simply edit a product and then have a different save option at the end, so it gets saved as a new product.

I think that would be a good way of doing it.

Okay, I'll have a play and see what happens e.g. I can foresee issues like duplicate downloads will need to be catered for.

Completed - you will see an obvious button to copy product data, and once copied, there will be a note advising you to add any relevant image or downloads, as well as checking the "new" data.

The copy process seems to work very well.
I understand not keeping the same file for instant downloads but the image file I reuse often and would like to keep with the option to change if needed.

I have to break the connection with any uploaded files - simply enter the image number under "Use an Existing Image".
