Have you noticed an increase lately in bots running brute force attacks on your server?

Yesterday alone I had 247 email reports from my server. Over 24,000 failed passwords for root. Man, all they're really doing is eating up bandwith. You can't login to my server via root. It also eats up alot of my time sending out abuse reports. What a bunch of lamers.

Looks like alot of the same IP's too.

yep, just a pain in the ass coz they don't get anywhere, and the stupid fools just keep their bots trying the same thing day after day.

Gotta feel sorry (not) for the phpnuke sites where they succeed
